Description:
Honolulu’s Aloha Tower has been a beloved Hawaiian landmark ever since it was built at Pier 9 on the harbor in 1926. A welcome sight for all those who sailed into the port, this stately lighthouse/clock tower which stands at 220 feet high (including the flag mast) held the title of the tallest building in Hawaii for forty years. For one of the best views of the harbor and the cityscape below, take the elevator up to the observation deck on the top floor. Today, the gothic-style tower stands amidst a busy shopping center (the Aloha Tower Marketplace) featuring boutique-style shops, restaurants, and free live music.
